The day to day management of Bentleigh West Kindergarten is by a voluntary Committee of Management made up of current parents. Glen Eira City Council owns the property, with the 4 Year Old Program being partially funded by the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (DEECD), and the 3 Year Old Program being fully funded by parents.
Some of the Committee’s responsibilities are:
- Ensuring that BWK meets appropriate statutory requirements;
- Staff recruitment;
- Managing finances;
- Maintaining buildings, gardens and equipment;
- Co-ordinating enrolments;
- Co-ordinating social activities

The committee is elected by the parents at the Annual General Meeting which is usually held in November of each year. Meetings are held monthly (excluding January). Please note that whilst the Committee is involved in the day-to-day management of the kindergarten, active and enthusiastic support from all our parents is necessary for the successful and smooth running of the Kinder.
Bentleigh West Kindergarten is registered as Children's Services Centre Class 1 meeting the requirements of the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (DEECD), the Children's Services Regulations 2009, the Children's Services Act 1996 and the policies and procedures of the service.
